A PRADEEP BHAJAN (ā ī ū ṛ `)
dasa rote hai`(hain).
hai, dasa rote hai`.
I saw a very strange picture of the world; one was smiling (laughing) and
ten were crying.
In this wonderful creation of the Lord; one was smiling while ten were
crying.
1. Hame` ha`sate mukhaṛe chaara mile (2); dukhiyāre chehare hazāra
mile.
I met few (four) smiling (laughing) faces; but thousands of sad faces.
Here pain exceeded joy (by) a hundred fold; one was smiling while ten were
crying.
2. Do ek sukhī yahā` lākho` me` (2); ā`sū hai karoṛo` ā`kho`
me`.
In a hundred thousand, two were happy; ten million had tears in their eyes.
I counted the destinies (fates, fortunes) I saw; one was smiling while
ten were crying.
3. Kuchha bol Prabhu ye kyā māyā (2); terā khel samajha me` na āyā.
Tell me Lord, what kind of illusion is this; I do not understand your game
(creation).
I saw (the contrast between) the palaces and the huts (many live in abject
poverty
while only a few are affluent); one was smiling while ten were crying.
