@lalwanimoti : raw voice ?? you probably meant raw talent ! I think SD was
extremely lucky that he got such an extraordinary talent to work with.. the
chance of a life time for him!! but once he had Kishore.. he really didn't
need to do much apart from giving a few directions.. because a born genius
is destined for greatness with or without mortal's help - and SD was
definately a mortal (else why would he shamelessly lift foreign and folk
music tunes and present it as his own work)!!

I agree with chaitanya. His voice was not raw but quite young and fresh
because he had sung in college and in films like Ziddi (1948) and Rim Jhim
under Khem Chand Prakash already.

Wah what a nice song, thanks for downloading. If I am not mistaken, this
song was picturised on Raj Kapoor & & this is the only movie in which all
songs for Raj Kapoor sang by Kishore Kumar!! Do any body having video of
the movie!! A it could be very interesting to see how kishore's voice
feeling on Raj kapoor's lips!!

In spite of not being an authority on music, being only an avid listener
for over 50 years, I find Mr. Moti Lalwani's comments rather strange, If I
may suggest, Mr. Lalwani may read write ups on Burmanda's work on internet
itself and find for himself what critics, fellow composers and other
dignitaries have to say about his work.If using folk music etc. were
condemnable, then what about the works of other stalwarts like Naushad,
Salilda, Khaiyyam, Jaidev, Hemantda, C. Ramchandra, Roshan etc. ?
