Bring some nostalgic memories of those beuutiful trips home when I always
asked to see this touching film year after year. The complex web of
friendships and love portrayed as it actually happens where no one is right
no one is wrong but everyone feels the pain all the same.These are golden
films without compromise and thats why they stood the test of time, not
easy to sever the relationship, part of you is always left behind,

When Gulzar took the lyrics of this song to R.D Burman, R.D said to Gulzar,
"tomorrow you will bring me the front page of Times of India and ask me to
compose a song based on a article?" Asha Bhosale hummed "Mera kuch samaan"
in a tune. R.D picked up that tune and composed the entire song. If you
listen carefully, there is no continuity in the lyrics. It takes a lot of
skill to compose something this fantastic. Pancham, you were great...

One of the best portrayal of agonoies of severed relations,so often felt
yet difficult to express. How lives get entertwined in love howsoever brief
,is it ever possible to extricate yourself from these emotions!! perhaps
never.So beautifully enhanced by intoxicating voice of Asha in this
alluring song. Ijazat remains an enigmatic and abstract love story painful
and agonising yet sweet and beuatiful.

Jaise is gaane mein likha hai. Ek sau sola chand ki raatein ek tumhare
kaandhe ka til. Waise hi ek taraf poori duniya ke likhe hue gaane ek gulzar
sahab ke likhne ka andaaz. I remember when I was young and had no sense to
understand good poetries one afternoon I happened to be listening radio.
Aur channel change kiya to yeh gaana aadhe se mila. Geela mann shayad
bistar ke paas pada ho woh bhijwa do mera woh saamaan lauta do and it
struck me so hard maine poora gaana behadh ghaur se suna aur sochne laga
who must have written such unusually beautiful poetry. And thats where my
journey to listen to and understand good poetries started I was 16 than and
32 now but the affect of the words of this song remains the same infact its
much deeper now. Gulzar sahab to me is the father of unusual poetry and he
is the only one original. The world in influenced by his style of writing
these days but no one can be him. Hain aur bhi duniya mein sukhanwar bahit
achhe. Mere liye to gulzar sahab ka hai andaaz e bayaan aur !!!
