Salil composed some of his most formidable melodies in this film. From the symphonic composition like 'Raato.n ke saaye' which according to Salil was an inspiration from a Chopin's piece to the complex chord progression in 'Guzar jaaye din' and the exquisite counterpoint of "Nain hamaare". Also, the unusual harmony in 'Champabati aja' and the unforgettable melody and rich orchestration in "Jiyaa laage naa".

What a wonderful tune, rendered with almost a magical finesse, I'm lost for words for this song; cannot thank enough the legendary Salil Chowdhury or even Lataji for this perfect magic that has left an unending trail of sweet music in my years since 1972. Thnx for posting.

this immortla film was directed by a great cinematographer,writer&erudite Shri Asit Sen(not the Comedian though he too was a director) agreat film,riveting with soulful music by my all time favourite Salil Da along with Shri Vasant Desai ji as two Composing Gaints
