those who compare any imitators with Rafi are ignorant. the knowledgeable people will never agree if there is any better singer in India than Rafi. just see how much imotions and meaning the songs derived when Rafi provided his voice. one is bound to feel totally immersed and subdued. Manna Dey has bluntly and rightly told the audience that only Rafi had blessings of god (which others do not), and there not a single singer in Inida of Rafi's calibre.

I do appeal to all present day Music Directors to listen to this song and
at least once you try to match this song . Not possible right? Because you
do not have Rafi. You have technology which can only make noise. And you
have nasal-voice singers .

This ghazal has two other siblings in the same movie (i.e. ghazals in the
same 'zameen'), "ishq ki garmi-e-jazbaat" (also sung by Mohd. Rafi) and
"naghma-o-sher ki" (sung by Lata M.) Madan Mohan created three ghazals of
different tones from essentially the same tune with artful variations,
which speaks volumes about his creativity. Sahir's poetry in all three is
superb. Mohd. Rafi excelled in both the ghazals he sang, but he took this
one to a level that other singers can only dream about reaching.
