waooo mahdi hassan sung this zhazal beautifuly, and he has potraid it diffrently.
and chitra jee sung this ghazal with immense feeling lajwab ... she created diffrent picture of the ghazal.lajawaab.

this what you learn't when you were growing up. Forget who originally sang
this ghazal and also don't give credit who wrote the poetry too. You come
from a land that has done that on more than one occasion.

I wasnt even talking to u ...what r u soupset abt, all i said is that despite who originally sang this geet or ghazel, chitra made it as her own by rendering it in a totally different and a better way and mitali cant even come close to chitra as a singer.whats the problem with u .why r u so bitter.

whats ur problem. All i said was no matter who sang this geet or ghazel originally, chitra has rendered it in a different and better way. And that chitra has no competition with matali coz chitra is a thousand times better and refined singer than her.
ghazels in our part of the world are not owned by the writers or poets, so there is no question of who wrote it originally, ghazels are penned and whoever can sing it better or do justice to the words is welcomed.

have sung this Ghazal. Chitra Jii has sung it with true emotions
portrying real essense of the feeling expressed in this ghazal. It's one of
the best ghazals, I will ever like to listen it. Credit also goes to Flute
player who has made it immortal. I will like to say it loud and clear that
Ghazal rendered by Chitra Jii, is the best.

Great singing by the great chitra singh. She changed the original tune sung
by mehdi hassan and noor jahan. This tune is also very good indeed, but the
original tune had high notes sung by noor jahan. Mehdi once sang it in a
show and had to sing noor jahan's portion also. Mehdi changed the tune as
he could not sing the high notes sung by noor jahan. Any way, chitra Singh
has a very pleasant voice and is a great ghazal singer and may she live to
be a hundred and prosper.

From outside you can't tell the pain one goes through, Chitra's killed
herself, the son died in a accident and then her husband dies. Hopefully
she has grandchild from her daughter, who help her go on. It is said Allaah
only gives the burden one can carry, it is not my place to question my Lord
and Master but how does carry something like this?

song sung by Lataji "Har Aas Ashqbaar Hai" Movie- Kinare Kinare 1963. Enjoy
