I too was in Srinagar in in the 60's for 4 yrs. We weren't allowed to see
movies, but we did see a few, including this one. I have great memories of
that time.

What led to your interest in Srinagar of '60s? "...I am afraid I don't have a simple answer to that..Srinagar, Old Delhi.Calcutta...those places have so many stories about them extending back into hundreds of years,sometimes I get a very humbling feeling.And I am glad my generation have the internet which has made this rather personal level of communication with seniors like you,getting facts first hand at a personal level..something not possible through books etc.U presently where Sir?

Its not purely Indian music.Why its so melodious, b'cse its a fine mixure
of both Eastern & Western Music. But the RAGA is purely Indian.Shankar &
Jaikishan, one of the greatest Music director duos in Indian Film musical
history who has created this song. Urdu is a melodious language. no doubt.
But there is no music call Urdu Music.

@poissondelamer I have never heard of any songs by lata in persian, i dont think she speak persian. Yes urdu is beautiful but persian is the language of poetry and love. Rumi, ferdowsi, khayyam, allama iqbal, all the great sufi poets have their best works in persian. Urdu/hindi is a beautiful language but imho its not close to persian, especially when it comes to sounds. Both are good languages though.

Mr Vicshukllanyc, izzat true...? From what we knew, right in the middle of the shooting of this film, Sadhana had a serious thyroid problem causing one eye to literally swell out of its orbit. Even though she managed to get it treated, her face never recovered its former beauty. And you can see the transformation in this film, part of which was shot before the problem and the rest after... What a pity for such a beautiful and talented actress!
