Imran, I am not sure whether one can fully convey through translations
everything, for there are aspects and subtleties in the poetry that require
a cultural context and upbringing and thus very hard to convey. I believe
these factors apply to the poetry of any language and culture. However, you
have done a wonderful job here.

Excellent song!! the lyrics are out of this world! by the way it is said that the lyrics were written by sahir ludhianvi sahab for his relationship with amrita pritam. especially the part "jis afsane ko ek anjaam tak laana na ho mumkin, usse ek khoobsurat modh dekar chhodna achha"

you are more than welcome ma'am,it was just a modest attempt, not exactly word to word translation since it would have lost the sweetness and beauty of the urdu (hindi) language...sahir Ludhyanvi was a great poet and excellent lyricist of his times, this being a tiny tribute to that giant personality...regards

with due regards, I love Urdu and you have a point, however if I have the cutest and the sweetest child in my arms, fair looking pink cheeks curly golden hairs.I should think myself to be the most blessed person; now will it be appropriate for me to compare my baby with a toddler of an African country, or for that matter own country but not so good looking.I would rather treat both the same way, rather extol them equally so that none is proved inferior to other...without being prejudice !!

ratansharga - It is not the education of Urdu but the whole world culture
has been driven by MacDonald culture which comes from foreign lands. There
is plenty of good poetry that is alive and living but Urdu is dying in
India. The medium of film used to promote people like Sahir Ludhyanvi and
other poets. That medium is happy to make songs that have no meaning at all.
