so. The 'chakor (bird) and chand' device is used a lot in hindi poetry. So
its the chakor speaking to the moon. And the next line 'tori unchi attari
maine pankh liye katvaye' speaks of the pain of the unattainable... for the
chakor, its the moon, for you and me it could be that one special person or
anything, as you say, its eteranl pain of the have nots

Yes I agree with abundela 76 that B hupen ji sang better than Lata ji.Only
a month back I had asked my daughter in law to prepare a CD of various
songs and had asked her to include this song sung by Bhupen ji.Instead she
included the song sung by Lata ji thinking that it is same.But I told her
that it is not same and in case of this particular song Bhupen ji's version
is much better and asked her to correct her mistake.
