an and the lyrics were written by Rajendra Krishan.

The soundtrack included following songs:
Reportedly the song 'Ek Chatur Naar' (a duet by Kishore Kumar and Manna Dey) was partly improvised by Kishore Kumar at the time of recording and Manna Dey, determined to show Kishore Kumar how he would sing the duet better (since Kishore had not been trained classically), got into the mood of the song and immortalized 'Ek Chatur Naar'.

Dey didn't like the fact that a classically trained singer like himself would have to lose, though only on-screen, to an un-trained singer (Kishore). In the song, at a couple of times Mehmood had to say "sur gadbad jee" against Sunil Dutt where Kishore was singing hence Dey refused to say those words so Mehmood gave his own voice for the same.

This movie was, is and will be a legend. Each member of this movie was just
awesome. Brilliant. Just brilliant. Today in this world when we are busy
watchin movie like Delhi Belly n all, this movie is an example of what a
real comedy movie means. Witty dialogues, brilliant acting and superb
direction. Kishre Da, Sunil ji, Mahmood... everyone at its best. Hatss off
to the legends... No one can match them... :)

Wow, when Kishore kumar sings 'Kaala re, ja re ja re' at 2:54, he sings it
so well that even Mehmood falls in love with his voice. He sings it really

part was Totally Kishore Da's idea lol, though m nt sure bt knowing him n
being his fan all these years, I think such comic thing can come only 4m
him, coz Padh Ke Botan Chir Bi Chakkar was also used in Half ticket, n the
remaining part was added for this song I guess lol... though m nt a
singer I will feel proud of myself the day I can voice these lyrics

@shineyemraan I guess these artists were way ahead of such silly things. u
might have read it sumwhr in random filmy magazine or site which always
look for gossips. If u pay attention nt jess tht part, bt whenever mehmood
is talking n nt singing in the song the voice is his own. Both Manna da &
Kishore Da improvised on the song in studio n this speaks for itself,
Kishore da was good frnds with almost all of his so called enemies, be it
Rafi saab or Manna dey

This movie is and will be one of the greatest. Great to see all the legends
together and hats off to the music by R.D.Burman and songs by legends like
Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar and Kishoreda. Brilliant acting by Kishoreda,
