what Tagore wrote more than a century back, still holds true and can really
motivate anybody,..the music is great, but Rehman could have let a true
singer perform instead of himself, who can pronounce both Hindi and Bengali

Choosing Bengali was tribute to Tagore who wrote the National song. As far

Sir, with all due respect , if by "tuning" you mean the musical notations
then the argument is wrong in this case as "Chitto jetha bhoyshunyo" is a
poem and not a song. You can check Gitabitan and see. There is no correct
or incorrect way to sing a poem as there is no tune or notation attached to
it.

Vijay, National song is Vande Mataram.. National anthem is Jana Gana Mana.
National Anthem was written by Rabindranath Tagore. National song was
written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. Tribute to bengalis and the national
song (anthem) - ok. I loved what A R Rahman did. God bless him.

Mtv is such a platform that makes it more colorful. 'Jagao mere des' is a
combo of awesome composition and great lyrics by honourable rabindranath
tagore & prasoon joshi sir. It is very well composed & instrumental

Though I am not at a position to judge AR Rahman's Talent but what I feel
is it would have been better if AR Rahman's part was sung by a bengali guy
then the pronunciation of the lyrics would have been better. Anyways, It's
an awesome fusion

Very well composed... being a bengali i liked the singing of ARR. the
hindi part conveys the same message as the first part written so many years
ago. the alaap is tremendous along with whole of the music.. just the
rap was not required... it ruined the alaap... other than that. just
spell-bounding...

Rahman sir is absolutely genius . There is nothing that he cannot do . I am
very much impressed with the way he sung the bengali line and that too with
perfection . Suchitra mam was fantastic . Blaze did his part quite nicely .
The surprise package was Sivamani . Thanks Rahman sir for this song . Hope
you will come up with more bengali songs .
