i have a friend who is Indian. her brother is about to get married (they follow all the traditional Indian customs. right now she is fasting too). she told us that the traditional colors for the bride are red and gold. i don't know about green but i know for the bride it's red.

Hehe, yeah, only dead bodies are white. Even Europeans, who are sometimes
referred to as "white", are not white. We are various shades of pink,
brown, yellow-brown... For me, this discussion about skin colour is
interesting but I do not really get it because in my country, we do not
discuss skin colour almost at all. I knew it only from old American books
where Native Americans are called "reds", and when someone in my country is
sick we say he has a "healthy" colour of a forrest = green :-)

such a fun and mischievous song. The Bengali wedding has a very similar custom. South Asian cultures are so much vibrant, colourful and full of life and soul. Its a culture of festive and love and happiness. Takes me back.
