Comments on song "Ka Kha Ga Gha"

Very critical one. surely not a commercial hit.
Shah Shaheen on May 03, 2015
To be honest, I only liked Fifi and Behroopia. All other songs felt like
composed with a similar musical arrangements with a single theme - 60's
Jazz. It was a kinda boring. I felt like listening to some parody songs of
1960's. Amit could have done some better work with Bombay Velvet. just
listen to first 5 songs.. excess use of xaxophone , irritating. Bombay
velvet theme was a good one too.

This is one of its kind for Bollywood and its sensibilities. Considering
there is so much at stake with anurag kashyap's 100+ crore budget, the
soundtrack is uncompromising to commercial masala sensibilities. That in my
opinion very brave.
"Mohobat buri bimari" repeated 3 times and once back to back is too much
for me.
As the album progresses one gets a feel of the era and jazz music.
Give it few listens and it does grow on you.
Btw where is fifi?

How can Amit be called a musician... He's no musician but a magician :D
A fan from Kathmandu

This album is a slow poison. Amit Trivedi is truly a genius. Amitabh
Bhattacharya, hats off, this man never disappoints. Neeti Mohan..she just
keeps on setting new standards..one of the very few female singers of the
recent times who is insanely talented and at the same time has a very
unique voice.

How come all the songs in this film are in the genre of jazz? Was Bombay
so skewed in it music traditions?
lokeshz on May 16, 2015
Quality music just like the movie. The main theme is amazing.
sajid1891 on May 21, 2015
The music kept this movie strong. Amit Trivedi did an outstanding job with
the project. Jazz music and Bollywood is a difficult task. Only Amit
Trivedi could do music like this. I think this takes his standard to
another level. Very knowledgeable and full with talent when you listen to
the music.

A lot of people did not like the movie because of the consistent plot. I
would agree slightly but still thought the movie was really good. Kashyp
brought the Western World to India and did well in my opinion. I think he
did well because it is hard to have the audience to buy-in to these kind of
movies. This was his "masterpiece", his story that he thought was the best
story to present to the audience.

Things I loved about the film:

-Performance by: Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Vivaan Shah. Ranbir played
a difficult role in my opinion with so many features and characteristics in
his character.

-Music Obviously: There was not one point in the film I did not stop
tapping my foot while the music was playing with legendary songs and a
classic background score.

-The setting that was presented in the film, the visuals, and how
everything looked authentic.

-Things I hated about the film:

Performance by Karan Johar was not good at all. Probably the worst part of
the film besides the inconsistent plot. I just felt that if they were gonna
put a villain, they needed a villain with pedigree and some type of style
to him. Karan Johar and acting cannot go in the same sentence. WHY NOT CAST
Manoj Bajpal? Bring some nastiness to that business style character.
Johar's character really bothered me.

Inconsistent storyline, I thought the flow of the film was not that great
but in the end I got what the story was, so that is why I am not gonna be
too harsh on that part.

Probably just me: I thought the ending could have been more spectacular. It
was the killing of a very "dangerous" man to the system that was in place.
The ending should have been more epic.

Overall, I liked the film, I would watch it again. Gotta go in with an open
mind and just have a utopia way of thinking. I would give the movie 3/5 ***
stars out of 5. I would recommend everyone to watch it because of the
music, performance, visuals. This is a very different film and I liked it,
highly recommend it.

From last some days, I am not listening to any other song. Just this album.
I tried other song but this is something different.

I was already a jazz fan, but to hear it sound authentic from an Indian
source is truly amazing. Amit trivedi delivers great music as always

Dhadaam Dhadaam needs to be recognized for the soaring masterpiece that it
is. An incredible work of passion, brimming with lament, moving us with a
fluid and pure genius that does not descend to modern "cheap" gimmicks like
auto-tune that lots of Indian composers (badly) use. Amit Trivedi had to
familiarize himself with the world of jazz, and this number more than any
other in this soundtrack really shows how well he mastered it.

Although Gangsters of Bombay during the 1960's era were seldom armed with
Sub-Machine guns (Most of them preferred Revolvers and Two bore Shotguns)
especially American Thompson "Tommy" Sub Machine guns. The British Sten gun
was the preferred weapon of Choice for Mafia members, Dacoits & Naxalites
of the 1960's. Presently all of them use AK-47's as their Standard Machine
gun/Rifle.

I probably make up half of the views. Man, I need to get around to finally
pirating this soundtrack. It is just genius. (betrays a bit of
unfamiliarity with jazz though, a bit of rawness, but it hits its groove
with Dhadaam Dhadaam)
