Once I was listening Vividh Bharati 'aaj ke funkar' that day was 4 Mubarka
Begam. In thouse days she had no work, it happen so that Kedar Sharma
wanted to have sung a song by Lataji but she was not able to schedule
recording so Kedarji thought why not Mubarak Begum? and she was called.
Kedarji asked to sing the song and Mubarak Begum said can we have some
talks in private? Kedarji took her to office and asked what?, she said I
have not ate for last three days I need food first and we got GEM

@anandjee The Mangeskars destroyed a lot of talent and that was not purely
due to their excellence. Well, Lata is not singing anymore and will die one
day... wonder what she will do with this money she has earned. Her voice
and name will stay here for long but what will happen to her soul will have
to bear the pain she has caused to those artists by her manipulation and
arm twisting tactics... I like her songs but not her as a person.

it puzzles me how such a great song was created in a very boring and flop
movie,which was created just to appease nutan who wanted to promote her
sister tanuja,who was not so beautiful,nor talented. of course story was
very bad and direction was misdirection. neverthless mubarak begum made the
name of movie immortal with this song.poor Mubarak.she'd've reached to
top.but the control of Mangeshkar sisters and their patron o.p. Nayyar,was
too much which didnt allow newcomers to stay longer.

Lataji's charishma was so hovering and gripping on the music directors of
those days who scare to get the voice like jr. lkata Suamnji, Mubarakji and
even ushaji. Not to tell about Asha Bhonsle who (I was told) starving and
almost on streets but for O.P.Jee who emancipated Ashaji. I believe. AS
regards this song, the voice of of Mubarak Begum is so young and sureeli.
So also the face of Tanuja on the screen!
