Well I don't agree that Jagjit Singh lacks spontaneous improvisation.I have myself seen him performing in two concerts & the way he improvises is mesmerizing.He has the unique ability to sing compositions in a different manner everytime.Contd..

don't know where you're finding him struggling.If you're referring to his
movements then it is a style to retain breath so that notes can be rendered

passionate compared to other masters who sang this song.., look for timely
knockout moments at 2:18-2:22 and 6:43-6:52, and the complete transormation
in play on word 'Jogi' from 4:21 for 2 minutes.. Well done Jagjit, very
well done.. you've improvised on this ghazal.. the actual recording version
( non-concert ) sounds even better..

just because its jagjit singh it doesn't mean it always has to be
good...the original was good...but here he overdid some portions.and
lost actual track of a song...its my opinion anyways..and to me this is not
good music

Can we call it his style & not say that he screwed them? He never claimed
to be a classical singer. I do agree most people like gazals with tabla and
harmonium, violin etc. He goes about his gazals differently. But that does
not mean that he's bad at what he does. Maybe you disagree. But you can't
deny that he does do a lot of justice to music. Now, if only you appreciate
music, then don't compare 2 things. I do listen to classical music and
gazal from many artist. No bias here!

Both the singers(Gulam Ali & Jagjit Singh) are not comparable at all, they are really at their extreem in their presentation which is so heavenly .

Tune almost the same as Gulam Ali sang. But variation and rendition plus
musical instruments used to create slight difference, which impair the ears
to remember its original version sang by Gulam Ali! Of course . the poet
Ibne-Insah will have double Royalties..
