This film is based on a short story by Gulzar entitled Seema, which I have
read. It's about a workaholic theatre director's wife who falls in love
with his jovial yet sincere friend. The producer never released it on
account of its seemingly controversial subject. If it gets released, it
would most likely be Indian cinema's most perceptive film on relationships,
with nuanced portrayals of all characters.

lata's voice has given soul to gulzat sahib's lyrics, and r.d burman's
melody has provided the body. Gulzar sahib can still pen out gems but where
will the film industry find a body and a soul for his heart touching
verses? there will never be another lata or r.d.

Hey I know its 2 years since the comments..., but still for you...,this movie never got released in India! Its name is "Libas" 1988 movie, Directed "Gulzar"..One of the last work of "Pancham da".!!

RD Burman is a good composer. But please don't compare him with Naushad, Shankar Jaikishan, LP, SD Burman and Madan Mohan etc..These composers are Maestro's...RD is Not a Maestro Please open your ears and eyes.Even Usha Khanna and O.P Nayyar are maestro's

Sorry, I disagree. R. D. Burman beats all composers. In Bollywood, no one can come near R. D. Burman's style. The music he composed can never be beaten by anyone. As you said, open your eyes and ears and try to understand how R. D. Burman used his rhythm. It takes several years to get used to his rhythm. That's just one part of his great music!

Undoubtedly One of the finest composers of the country.. I've grown
listening to Burman da's music... I highlight has been his arrangements and
melody... the bass line of this track is fa bolus.. this is indeed
nostalgic .. After he passed away..I love ilayaraja's music who is
equally good...
