most people from north do not like to come out of their nest to actually see and appreciate the beauty beyond their homes. Every singer has strengths and weaknesses. To compare simply and say who is the best is foolish... even these singers are human beings..all these likings and dislinikings are for us the fans(fanatics)...!! if lata is good at something, rafi is good at something else. ghantasala is good at something different...likewise spb, yesudas, etc. there may be others who i do not know

There seems to be lot of controversy over whether Tamil version or Hindi
Version is better. I have listened to both versions. Honestly, Hindi
version is in no way inferior to Tamil one. Rafi & Lata have done full
justice to this song. Hats off musice director Adi narayan Rao. for
composing this gem.

Unbelievable composition. one of my top favorites. I wonder whether there
are tabla masters who play like this anymore. next best tabla is for - O
sajna. 1) Jhil mil jhil mil - lata. film stree. (best composition as well
as the other songs of this film). in fact I consider V Shantaram as the
most brilliant director when it came to song and dance. 2) o sajna. lata -
film parakh. 3) lag ja gale - lata. wauh kon thi. favourite MD's are -
Madan Mohan, Salil Chaudry, C Ramachandra and Vasant Desai.

gantsala is j a "moon" to Rafi the "Sun". we have many singers better than
Gantasala, all say rafi is the best,(eg; KJ yeshudas , P Jayachandran )Even
Telugu singers like S.janaki have said Rafi is the ultimate,, gantasala is
just another regional Singer,, BHazarika,TMSounderrajan, pbSreenivas
,Kamkara Purushotaman, and even SP are better known regional singers than
Gantasala here,So comparing Rafi to the regional singers just funny,, that
to rafi, it was ok if it were BappiLahri,Kumarsanu

I love this song. But I can't help stating one defect in Lara's singing
here. She could have sung one note lower as she couldn't sing titli in Dali
Dali kaliyo or titliya zoome as its too high for her. If you listen
carefully you can hear only rafi at that note.

It's not Lata couldn't sing, but recording technique wasn't that great that

Rafisab's taan is heavier following his initial training in Punjabi
gharana. Lataji was trained in Bhendi Bazar Gharana so her taan follows
that gharana style. In fact both tanns are different and Lataji's taan goes
a note higher than Rafisab's taan.
