Seems it is Habib wali Mohammad himself talking about his life. Memons are
not known for being that much into advanced Urdu language in speaking let
alone superb singing like him. Being born in Rangoon where the last Mughal
Emperor, Bahadur Shah Zafar, was extradited after the Indian freedom riots
against the British in India in 1858. His son's head was also presented to
him by the British on a platter. Now they claim with the Americans to be
the muost civilized people on earth.

this was the last ghazal of exiled emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar, which is soo
heart-breaking it kills you just to read it. It was a part of my Urdu
course in college. It is the embodiment of grief. Wali Sahib done justice
to the feelings of Zafar, Allah bless them both, may Zafar find peace in
the kindgom of heaven.

Superb performance by Habib Wali Mohammad. This is one of his two all time
best ghazals recorded in India. The other being " Ye Na Thee Hamari Qismat
" penned by Mirza Ghalib. Both ghazals were tuned by none other than the
first female Music Director of the SUBCONTINENT Saraswati Devi ( Real name
Khorsheed Minocher-Homji ). Great upload.
