much. Thanks to Nupur and LonelySea79. I am looking for a number from
Suraiya- Muraliwale murali bajao...
Chromcast0845 on July 16, 2008 One of the best performances by Suraiya!
Reincarnation on August 23, 2008 my ears were longing for decades to hear this ghazal sung suberbly by the
lovely suraiya. this bandish in raag yaman can only be surpassed by the
immortal meaning of the great ghalib's unparalleled poetry. i can listen to
this a million times...and still be enthralled by it. thanks and god bless
you for posting!
jkulsh on October 28, 2008 Can you please post the mushaira from this movie? Thanks.
shilpa88888 on November 02, 2008 What movie is song from?
LonelySea79 on December 02, 2008 Mirza Ghalib
sjalcapricorn on January 07, 2009 fabulous song, superbly rendered by Suraiyaji.thanks LonelySea79 for this
gem.Btw, is the song 'dil-e-nadan tujhe hua kya hai' from the same movie?
vinaypande on February 08, 2009 could you please upload the ghazal amir khan sang for this movie-- rahiye
aab aaisi jagah chalkar jahan koi na ho
vinaypande on February 19, 2009 correction-- amir khan sang it for a documentary on ghalib, not for this
movie.
V. Siddhartha on February 25, 2009 You know how in music the most moving effect is created when shabd( words),
svar( voice) and sangit (melodic composition) blend seamlessly. Well, you
are looking at one such piece. Then you add Suraiya's second in-born gift
-- for expressive acting-- and the ghazal becomes transformed into a
masterpiece of national-museum standard. Thanks for the post,LonelySea79.
aapindi on March 10, 2009 her face her acting her singing her dancing her grace her style her
dignity.there was no one is no one and will be no one like her.the one and

penta15786 on March 27, 2009 You have defined the entire music that we hear today in the form of film
music.
penta15786 on March 27, 2009 The poet is Mirza Ghalib but it is composed by Ghulam Mohammed.
vkartikv on May 12, 2009 suraiya + ghalib = magic
Muhammad Shaukat on May 22, 2009 Ghalib our most celebrated romantic poet and Suraiya combination has to be
a masterpiece. The grace, dignity, charm of suraiya and the her melodic
voice casts a spell on the viewer and listener. Thanks for posting this
gem, You have great taste.
dubbooman on June 05, 2009 apart from being a beautifull actress she had a very silky and'' full
bodied'' voice and this rendition of ghalib's ghazal can not be matched by
any other singer
unmeshg19 on June 18, 2009 Thanks a millions for posting this song! I was searching for this since
ages... thanks again!
Kishore Rao on July 19, 2009 What about Ghulam Mohammad the legendary music director! His sublime
melodious tunes contribute in no small measure. He maintained brilliant
consistency throughout 'Mirza Ghalib'.
atulks on July 28, 2009 Mirza Ghalib deserved a 'National Award'. Jawaharlal Nehru told Suraiya, "
tumne Ghalib ki rooh ko zinda kar diya."
Ritesh Patel on August 07, 2009 I definitely agree, she is excellent in this rendition. No one can reach
her dignity, grace and controll, awesome!!! hearing again and again.
hauntedSoul123 on August 09, 2009 awesome, she weaved magic into it.
786285 on August 14, 2009 Awesome Thanks
nickkohri on August 26, 2009 This is indeed a very good version of this ghazal. The mujra style of singing gives it a distinctive touch. Thanks for this upload.
homimistry on August 27, 2009 When I heard this song thought of Sohrab Mody after him I don't think any body tried to really search Ghaalib.
kkjb586 on October 11, 2009 One of the best songs of Suraiya.
AK Singh on October 25, 2009 Nobody has sung this better.
Mangal Tripathi on October 29, 2009 One of the best songs by Suraiyaji - I liked this version more than sung
beven by Rafi Sahab and Saigal saab.
himsingz on December 08, 2009 I think Saigal was the greatest singer of all times. But I have to say
Surraiya's rendition of this Ghalib ghazal can not be matched by anyone,
let alone a stalwart like Saigal. Surraiya's pathos is so raw and
authentic, it hurts.
himsingz on December 08, 2009 Another unforgettable, matchless Surraiya Ghazal from this film is - Rahiye
Ab aisee Jagah.
Tonyroy00 on December 11, 2009 Suraiya, Talat Mahmood + Rafi sahib and Ghulam Mohammed.Mirza Ghalib.it is like a life time intoxication.I am 61.
durlabh kolhe on December 13, 2009 surayya a grat artiest and sweet singer. i salute to her.
kurshi69 on January 25, 2010 It's a pity that Ghulam Muhammad Sahib did not set the whole of
"Divan-e-Ghalib" to music! Only HIS Music brought out the true magic of
Ghalib's Poetry!!! People like Jagjit Singh are not fit enough to untie GM
Sahib's sandals when it comes to setting Ghalib to music.
Reincarnation on January 27, 2010 this..can not be surpassed - ever! it is just like divine perfection...i
know that sounds redundant. but i can't find any other expression right
now. n.j. has also sung this ghazal...i wish that she had not altered the
melody. she is a great singer.but i could not bear her version of this
ghazal for more tha a few seconds...and had to return to surraiya's magical
one.
rafi khan on January 30, 2010 A masterpiece, a classic,a timeless beauty, likes to hear again and again.
It touches the chords of one's heart, indeed Surraiya was one of the
sweetest singer of urdu Ghazas.
rafi khan on January 30, 2010 I tottally agree with your feelings of the Great singer.
rafi khan on January 30, 2010 The Alaap is so beautiful that I want to hear it rewinding several times.
rafi khan on January 30, 2010 Sohrab Mody has produced some of the great historical movies, it is a pity
that nobody remembers him in Bollywood today. He was the pioneer of indian
cinema. He and Himannshu Rai are the two people who laid the foundation
back in 1920s and 30s.
melnepal on January 30, 2010 Suraiya's greatest!!!, awesome!!!
Mangal Tripathi on February 13, 2010 RafKhan Bhai, Absolutely in agreement with you - Suraiya, Sohrab Modi,
Bharat Bhusan they were all amazing. Suraiyaji's one of the best. Her alaap
is heart touching. Ghulam Mohammad sahab has produced great music here. I
am sure you have heard Rafi Sahab too in this movie. "Kahan Jayen teri
Mehfil" Kawalli. This is my all time favorite. Tonyroy00 Bhai, I was loving
this since I was 20- Now 35 :). God bless these people.
Mangal Tripathi on February 13, 2010 Talat sahab, made some amazing melody in the song :hum koi karke wafa karte
hain" for Ishq mujhko nahin. I miss them all and the Golden period. :(
Munib Samir on February 13, 2010 This is one of the best of Ghulam Mohammad. I have not seen any body
singing Ghalib so beautiful.Gerat Ghazal equally composed and sung.
planetbeta on February 15, 2010 Didn't understand all lyrics, but surely loved it. Thanks for posting.
alithehunk on February 18, 2010 A classical in true sense
Kay Cee on March 12, 2010 Grace and dignity, charm and ada, thy name is Suraya! Unmatched performance
till date; no one can replace her from the high pedestal she climbed to,
much ahead of her time. Feelings and ethos she could impart in this
rendition is flawless: pitch of her voice blending so smoothly with an
excellent background music and lyrics by Ghalib, what a combo really! You
always want to hear it one more time even before the current form is yet to
finish! Very very lovely clip, so much appreciated. Thanks.
Dev Anand on March 12, 2010 @kchopra4080able The heart yearns again and again to feel the soft carress
of the sweet fragrance of this mellifluous voice of Suraya...An expression
of beauty, charm, sweetness and love that thrill the being and soul
softening the heart beat with the sweet rhythm of peace and love...making
me enraptured in the world of joy..Long live Suraya! Thanks Kanwal for
sharing treasures of happiness..Best regards from Dev
