My bad, I can't actually read hindi but it looks awefully close to it. Plus hindi sounds the exact same as urdu so it was much more likely to be hindi than any other language.

Exquisite. Really a testament to Nusrat's expertise over Eastern and Western music. The song starts with a complaint by a lover and carries on to express his feelings and emotions. You don't really need to understand Punjabi to grab the feelings.
