I so badly wish to know why Asha Bhosle was not used by Shankar Jaikishan,
SD Burman, LP, Madan Mohan, (even RDBurman) and Co. that much at all. I
feel there are plenty of songs by Lata that could have been rendered better
by Asha. Do you guys have any real theories??

Lovely song! Very sensual touch by Asha! BTW, may I point out a little
mistake in the story of the film that u mentioned- the girl who first gets
a lift to the graveyard from Dr. Anand does NOT introduce herself as
Sandhya, in fact she does not tell her name or any details. Sandhya is the
name of his wife, also played by Sadhana.

The viewer who commented that Asha Bhonsle survived only on the strength of
her affairs with music directors is very very disturbing and absolutely
wrong. She has vocal strengths and voice quality that equals and often
excels her sister. Anyone with some idea of music will agree with me.

I think what you said about having affairs is just all BS! You have to understand that to do somewhat well in the face of other great singer LATA is itself a big achievement. Give due credit to Asha for what she is(she sings well too!) and to her sister Lata for shaping the golden age of hindi film music.

Lata Ji or Asha Ji are both highly respected not only in India but all over
the world. They had their own way of singing. Lata for slow/sad songs and
Asha for fast/happy songs. My friends, please enjoy the music you are

asha has put soul in this particular song. such type of songs cant b sung y
lata her voice being soft. one cant ignore the talents of asha. her mentor
OP NAYYAR always prefered asha 4 playback n never gave any song 2 lata. the
others i.e. ravi, khayam, ndutta, madan mohan also prefered asha over lata.
but both these sisters hv ruined the career of many other highly talented
singers like mubarak begum, suman kalyanpur, sulakshna, sudha malhotra etc.

sahab had to leave this earth so early. I'm sure he would have continued to
