@fruityrupis In the pasy in movies they would have non indian actressses
and they would blend in very well.I am very surprised they at least didn't
train her to at least do the dances traditionally.I understand and respect
the fact that she was suposed to have the look of a young village girl from
60's/70's Punjab but geez.I don't know man...brazillian? so sad.

oh lol! she seeems to be a nice and acts really good for this role...but
please, God...she doesnt know how to dance :/ ...she moves sooooo sharply
and has no no no no no gram of fat...she is defenitely too skinny

Harlene Kaur was played by Giselle Monteiro who is a brazillian model. The director of the movie, Imtiaz Ali was looking for a simple looking punjabi girl that represented the 70's/80's he looked for the role and he searched everywhere, he didn't find what he was looking for. Giselle walked into the studio and wanted the role of Saif's girlfriend in the second part of the movie. Imtiaz's wife told him that Giselle would be perfect for the role. I think she did a great job for a non-Indian girl.

and they not so used to these type of indian dance. i agreed she needs some
face expression, energetic you know how Rani, Aish, Kajol with that smiley
face and putting their energy to it. but this girl did pretty good.

Brazilian but that explains a lot. She dances really gracefully but grace
isn't what the song needed. What she's saying and how the singer is saying
isn't matching how she's moving. She has a fake smile plastered on her face
and she's moving like someone taught her to. She's beautiful and she dances
well but it's not appropriate for the song. Look at how she moves at 2:08
