I agree that something is missing in her dancing. She did very well for
dancing to a whole new type of music, language, and dance. But it didn't
seem as natural as the backup dancers. Nonetheless, its great to see other
ethnic groups in Bollywood films (and vice versa!).

i thought she looked very punjabi, the only thing that gave her away was
the dance moves and her body shape ... that shape is not indian! but
punjabi girls in lahore and isloo look like her ... and i m sure they do in
india too .. knew a punjabi girl from india who looked like her ...

she is gorgeous in her face. But skinny, indian girls are normally not that skinny. They have some chimmey, if you know what i mean. She looks like a real young model. She is ok though. give her a chance, i know the film industry will faten her up.

hmm yes it is great that a brazilian girl was casted and acted quite well
as an indian girl except her dancing and haav bhav. It is great we have
people from difrent cultures here but the point is that she was not that
great if we forget she was a brazilian :) A person should be given
opportunity becoz they r good and not becoz they tried real hard or becoz
of their background. I loved her in the movie but I still think there could
have been a better indian girl who would have done it better :)

the flashback parallel story in Love Aaj Kal was the real charm. It was
what audiences really enjoyed but unfortunately this Brazillian actress
kept reminding the auidnece that she was trying to act. With the lack of
dialogues, the flashback scenes seemed imbalanced becuase her lines were
kept to an extreme minimum. I would really love this film if it had a
genuine indian girl play the part. So what if "she" is difficult to
find...work harder Imitiaz Ali!

this is ridiculous to say that any indian actress would have replaced Giselli Monteiro in the movie, whether its amrita or ameesha.

the innocence and natural beauty portrayed by giselli is so difficult to find these days,not only among bollywood actresses but also in indian females.

these days, actresses just come for skin show and dance on the screen or they have won some beauty contest or any daughter of a bollywood star.

so,only giselli suited the role

I had no idea she was not Indian..she does not look foreign at all! Yeah, I
thought her dancing was a bit stiff...but I never would have guessed she
was Brazilian! Did they have someone dub her lines? I mean, her 'fresh,
innocent' face is okay and all, but are filmmakers so hardpressed that they
can't find decent actresses from India who can actually speak the

oh yea brazilians indulge in no skin show! actresses everywhere come only
for "skin show" if anything there are some indian actresses who do not
believe in that or to a lesser extent anyway ... atleast i see beautiful
desi girls who actually care about economics, politics and mathematics ...
anywhere else the paradigm seems to be physical beauty is everything
whereas the truth is far from this

You can definitely tell she's not Indian. I wouldn't recommend her for another Desi film. Her dance and lip synching looks forced.
