Truly the best song sung by the legendary Kishore Kumar. What a delight to
listen to this whenever you really miss your motherland. Dhanywad Mr Lethal
whatever your name is he he Sir. Thanks a lot.

KK had a most complex character. Behind his often buffoonish exterior(
which was always an act in his real life too), he carried much wisdom
culled from daily life experiences and observations. When he wanted to , he
could move hearts by bringing all the depth of that wisdom to bear upon his
singing, as he does here. The sadness here denotes wisdom in that it
captures the fragility of all human relations including those in his own
life . A lovely post. Thanks,lethal1985.

this song is not kishore da's composition, but when he asked Ashoke kumar
that he wanted to sing this song he was told it was in 14 matra he wont be
able to sing it but the little kishore da says that one day he will sing
this song and will sing it better then anyone it was the truth it was a hit
song after he sng it and still is.

just see his hold on the lowest octave..the sustainence in coverage of
threenotes in the lowest octave with clarity..who can say this man never
had any musical training.. This skill is not there even in highly trained
singers also..

Thats completely false - he did not learn music from anyone!
chaitanyajosh on October 23, 2009
well said bro.. i think thats precisely the difference between a born
genius and the rest !
Arghya Dutta on October 23, 2009
He used to listen songs from his mother.. It cannot be called a "training"
or "taalim" at all.. He used to listen songs played on radio by Saigal, S D
Burman et al and used to hum in leisure hours.. That is how he had learnt
music..
tyagnesh on October 30, 2009
This is one of the best song of Kishore Kumar. This song is in Raga Jhinjhoti. Kishore Kumar sings the notes perfectly. Since he is also the music director, double credit goes to him for the song. His love for music made up for his lack of formal training. Practice made him perfect. He showed that he was equally good in tragic songs. I love to sing this song since the day I heard it for the first time on radio.
Arghya Dutta on October 30, 2009
Buddy, I think it is 13 matra.. I tried on keyboard, it hits "pa" on the
lowest octave as the lowest and "ga" on the third octave the highest.. Has
to be 13 matra.. anyways, who cares.. What a song!!
rajat30686 on October 31, 2009
