This song and "Falsafa pyar ka" from the movie "Duniya" are so similar. Both evergreen hits. I think both are composed by SJ and sung by the inimitable Rafi saab. Superb song !! THANKS rajshri

The lyrics of this song was inspired by Hakim Momin Khan "Momin" famous gazal, about which Ghalib said, "Credit this nazm to my name and take away all my work". This actually a devotional song sung by devotee for the God. listen the works carefully and you will realize that this is addressed to the God. This is sufi song.

A voice that has never been matched in the annals of music (any language!). Incidentally, a beautiful video. SJ deserves much credit for composing a tune for the ages. Certainly reminds me of my boyhood days in Guyana. Thanks so much for uploading this classic.

Incidentally: And this is just one man's opinion: Joy Mukherjee along with Dev Anand are the best dressed heroes of the Indian Cinema. They sure look cool. Like I said, just one man's opinion. Maybe Armani got a few ideas from them!

you are probably right. Watch some of the old movies like Mother India and see all the muted sunbaked colors, tartans and checks, paisleys and stripes in the village scenes as well as clothes worn by the actors and you will see shades of Ralph Lauren written all over.

Song is live with Rafi Saabs expressions, he modulates each word to its meaning. Observe the way he says "Tum mere paas hote ho, koi doosra nahin hota ..." each time differently in the song. Beatiful lyrics and great composition. Never get tired to listern this song. Thanks for uploading!!

Whenever I see Joy Mukherjee, I remember two people. One is one of my friends with the same name and the other one is a great actor named Granville Rodrigo who was a great Stage player and a tele drama and movie actor. The later is no more and he was much alike Joy Mukherjee except his dark complexion.
