Incidentally, 'zindagi hai kya sun meri jaan' from the same film was
inspired from Charlie Chaplin's 'Limelight'. 'Maya' songs are all time
greats, enhanced by the pairing of Dev Anand and Mala Sinha. 'Ja re ja re
ud ja panchchi is among Lata's finest.

there was no television at home and the whole family used to listen to
radio and those days Radio Ceylon was very popular. I absolutely loved

Yes,certainly we are here to listen good music but my heart really breaks
when every blame of every kind goes on Lataji.as if she is devil and
others are GOD. I am sure Lataji's struggle is much more than what is known
to us and that also on many levels...My biggest luck in this life is I
have met her couple of times and my love for music starts with her
..really lucky me.

The high pitch in the song is a notch too high for Lataji. Even though she
sounds very sweet in lower notes. listen to Lata's 2nd and 4the line in
each Antra ( Observe the words Nainon ka Kajra and Rahoon tere peechche
peechche in first Antra) She sounds shrill.
Rafi is at ease with all notes. Rafi Sahab the only other singer that could
match you was only Lataji. even with her slight short coming.
